CNQ Breaks All The Records

CNQ - Canada’s New Stock Exchange is pleased to announce that October 2007 was a record-breaking month for all measures of trading activity. 

In October, 51,489,491 shares were traded, surpassing the previous record of 50,391,486 in April 2006.  This also represents an increase of 47% over September’s volume of 27,545,859 shares.

The value of shares traded in October was equal to $40,785,360, an increase of 43% over the previous record of $23,165,317 set in May of this year.  Growth in value has been exceptional in 2007, reflecting a growing list of stocks that are showing underlying appreciation.

The CNQ market also exceeded the previous monthly record for number of trades with 4,743 transactions in October, an increase of 29% over the 3,345 trades in May of 2007.  Complete trading activity since CNQ was recognized as a stock exchange is shown in the chart below.
